Thought you would like a little update on Ziggy (Mats). Feel free to sharr on your social media and website if you see fit
We adopted ziggy on 31st October 2021.
We had been looking for a puppy/young dog to join our family for around 6 months. We had also seen several coming from shelters abroad however we were reluctant because we have an 8yr old daughter and a 4yr old labrador and we were unsure about adopting a foreign dog unseen. Then I saw Ziggy! Having seen him on verhuisdieren.nl with the option to Foster first then decide to adopt we knew that at the very least we would be able to provide him a temporary home and if it didn't work out with our family dynamic, he would have a much higher chance of being adopted once he was in the Netherlands. So we signed up.
The team at Filos were incredible. First the very friendly chat with Wilma about suitability then all the updates during the transport from Italy. Were I was not surprised to hear Ziggy was causing some trouble. That's my boy!! Needless to say I fell in love with him immediatly. And I knew I would find a way to make it work.
I didnt have to worry though. He was shy and quiet for the first days as is expected but then his personality came through very quickly. He bonded to my daughter and our dog straight away. Our labrador took a little more convincing. He's troublesome, funny, mischievous, and always has a smile on his face. He's taken to training fantastically, loves a cuddle, loves big walks tearing through the forest. And loves chewing! Socks and paper are his current favourites.
Thank you to all the team at Filos. Our wooly baby has become the most handsome silky rascal and we wouldn't be without him. The next time I want to rescue a dog I shall come back to you for sure.
